Looking to switch to Blackberry

So I'm currently a Verizon customer but have a LG chocolate so I don't have any sort of a data plan. I'm looking to switch to a Blackberry curve and know that I'm going to need to get a data plan to get all of it's benefits but I'm not due for any sort of a discounted upgrade on my phone until February... So will switching my plan to include a data plan make me eligible for any sort of discount on the phone itself??

No, switching your plan will not affect your upgrade date; and you can't add the BB data plan without the device itself. Even adding the VPak for your Chocolate will not affect your upgrade date. 1yr pricing on the Curve $119.99 after a $70 MIR; this is what you would qualify for as an exception. Storm 1yr pricing =$219.99 after $70 MIR and Pearl Flip=$149.99 after $70 MIR.
