Not a full song, but about 30 seconds of one. Kind of like a ringtone. Except I haven't downloaded any ringtones or music onto my phone. Also I didn't even know the name of the song until a few days after it started happening, so I really have no idea how my phone knows it.
Anyway does anyone have any clue how I make this stop happening, it is really inconvenient. It even plays when I have my phone on silent.
Is the sound something you received in an MMS message?
I've had this happen to two of my Tours and I've seen it happen to other people. There's another post about this same issue in the Blackberry section as well.
If you received the sound in a message then make sure the message is completely deleted from your inbox then pull your battery. You may have to pull your battery more than once but it should make it go away.
If it doesn't go away you may need to do a complete wipe, which is easy..just extremely time consuming.
It's a known issue with the current software version that's on the Tour. So you're not the only one.
There are two fixes you can do. Either should work fine, plug into your Blackberry Desktop Manager and complete any updates that may show up or take it to your local CORPORATE Verizon Store and have them put in the patch which will fix the sound issue.
