Screen Turns Black and Timer runs

Twice in the last month (once during a call) my Blackberry Storm basically shut down--screen turned black, timer turned in the middle of the screen--all of this about 1.5-2.0 min.  Then a blue scroll bar appeared at the bottom and progressed across the screen like something was being downloaded.  After the download the screen appeared as  it should and the phone worked fine.  Is this natural?  A problem?  I have been to the Verizon Store technical support--they were no help.

its one of the many bugs with the os  you either have to put up with it and wait for an official release or try an os from another  cdma carrier
