Slow texting on the Blackberry Curve 8330

I recently added a new contact to my Blackberry Curve, and it is a person that I text quite frequently. For some reason, texting to this person is mind numbingly slow and resource consuming for my phone. When I create a reply message, click the clickwheel and hit send, the time it takes for it to move from the send screen back to my inbox is ridiculous, and is only followed by more time spent waiting, unable to do anything with my phone, for the little check mark to appear beside the text, indicating it was successfully sent. The weird this is, this slowness ONLY occurs with that one particular contact. He is an AT&T customer, but I also text his sister who is on the same plan with no problem. What on earth could be causing this, and has anyone else had this particular problem?

AT&T has notoriously bad coverage. If he is in a bad area it will effect the texting time. Have him try it the next time he has a great digital signal. Also, what kind of network is he on? It is possible he is on one of the slower networks. Since you can text with his sister, the problem is not on your end.
