I don't have all the issues that everyone else seems to have with the Storm. In fact I love the device.
The only issue I have with it is the dust that is starting to collect between the LCD display and the touch screen glass.
No it's not the little dots used for finger tracking, no it's not dead pixels. It's dust. It started out as a little bit but is getting worse. I tried speaking with one of the Verizon reps just a few minutes ago but she was as dumb as a post. She had no idea what I was talking about, had no knowledge of the device itself, and had really no information of any use.
I have searched other sites and there are plenty of others who have the same issue. I want to know if there are any tips to remedy this or if there is anyone who was able to have the device replaced due to the annoyance of the dust, etc...

I know exactly what you're talking about as I'm an ex-Storm owner. The problem is a design flaw. There is too great a gap around the edge of the floating screen. This allows dust and debris to get in there. If you carry it in a pocket or purse with lots of lint and stuff it gets actually worse. In time, that debris is going to wreck havoc with the electronics (if not the mechanics itself). RIM is very much aware of it, as are a number of the knowledgable Verizon staff.
I don't think a policy has been established just yet as to weather or not this is officially recognized as an issue that automatically will result in a replacement phone being issued unless that debris creates a problem. They will not replace it just on the unsightly asthetics of the screen alone. Just as they won't replace a phone for surface scratches. On another site there was a workaround solution that somebody came up with for sealing that gap. It involved the careful application of pinstripe film (black I presume) around the edge. They said it was just enough of a seal to keep debris out and yet not interfere with the floating screen operation. Personally, I never tried it nor would I necessarily endorse it either.
