Tour Unlocking

I am new to blackberry's and wondering if I can unlock the tour as i am traveling to europe for 1 month. I can unlock it instead of paying verizon hefty roaming charges. correct?

And when i come back i can use it again as verizon even though it is unlocked, correct?

And all the terms still apply, like insurance i have on the device that i am paying every month would give me a replace ment if i lost the phone while i am using it here in U.S after i come back. correct?

Bascially question is, I understand verizon do not cover the device while is unlocked and deactivated from verizon but is it covered when you come back to U.S and activate it again on verizon even thought it has been unlocked???
