Upgrade From Curve to Tour?

Okay,

so i have been on Verizon for two months. and upon my original switchover from Sprint i asked if there was a phone similar to the Bold, and my representative told me all Verizon had was the Curve at that point, so i had to go with that.

Now, not even 30 days after my trial period ends, the Tour releases, and a associate at my local store told me i would have to pay $500+ for the tour, or add a line and do all of that, still facing termination of my old line fees, phone disconnection fees, ect.

honestly, i have  wanted a phone like this since i got on verizon. and my Curve is taking up to 3-4 minutes to send a text. it wont let me do anything (it freezes) on my texts to one person until they reply. then it takes more time.

so basically, my Curve is becoming inactive, and slow.

i tried the memory dump. i cleaned out all of my old themes, applications  (i only have the bare ones included sparing Pandora and Myspace) and all of my media. I also have a 2GB memory card in my phone so i shouldnt be experiencing these problems.

I heard the Tour was faster in every way my Curve is not. I actually, need this new phone, because i dont think i could trust another Curve. So how would i be able too without paying the $500+ (which, is obviously money i do not have)

if anyone has any help they can offer me, please do so. all comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Two months in makes it hard. Verizon will just replace your phone with the curve. 2 months in I dont even thing you would quailify for lost or stolen program.  Think your best option get replcament curve sell on ebay and buy tour. Sorry not so much help

Not unless you have at least replaced three devices and are a VIP member then you might sweet talk your way into one. Heres the other side dont think everything is peaches and cream with the Tour. I am already waiting for my second one. My first one was a mess and there are some issues with the OS and the browser.

Less than 30 days ago I upgraded to the Curve 8330.  Within days I visited Costco and the wireless phone Kiosk caught my eye.

I looked down and saw a Curve 9?00 series.  The representative told me that Verizon did not offer that version, but that they would be adding a new "incredible" version within two weeks.  I was able to go back today and swap out under the "30 day return" policy.

I asked the agent "basically, what is the difference?"   Well, if you open a lot of attachments......   That's me so I was glad to be able to make the switch.    What was interesting is that the Costco competitor seemed to know that Verizon was to add this new model and I made the effort to both visit the office and call Verizon directly and both were unaware of future introductions.  (humm???)

I am happy.  I would have been very unhappy after waiting two years to make this plunge.

My only concern now is that the time does not adapt to my constant crossing back and forth into different time zones.

(I also use this daily for my wakeup alarm clock)

I would wait before you upgrade. I love my Verizon service and have a BB 8830 World Edition. I really wanted something more in line with AT&T Bold and hate the storm.

I order y new Tour, got is really fast, had it a day and had to return it. The phone quality was no where near my 8830 World Edition and when using in my car with MS Sync and blue tooth people could not hear me. Same car and sync with 8830 was clear as a bell.

I went onto BB's site and Crackberry forums and it only seems to be with VZW service at this piont.VZW needs to work the kinks out with the BB Tour and try and get the BB Bold as well. I want more options for World Edition other than the 8830.

It's simple, that is because if VZW Employees release any info of upcoming phones they're risking their jobs.  When you work for most companies, you are not allowed to tell customers about release dates or compromise some information about certain upcoming devices.

Then you should see that a CDMA Bold cousin will be coming to VZ next year close to when AT&T is getting it.
