This is what Verizon says.
ATTENTION
The charge for data transmitted and received while using this service (VZGlobal) can be as high as $20.48 per MB. Please check your calling plan for the applicable charges in the location where you plan to access the service. To check your usage, please go to the "My Verizon" button on VZAccess Manager. Data usage charges will apply for accessing this link, in accordance with your calling plan.
So I take that as, if you have an unlimited Data plan, you won't be charged for data usage.

Yes you have unlimited data on your device only. This is thru your $29.99 BIS plan with VZW. So you can steam radio, visit web sites, upload, download as much as you like on your device only. No cap. However, if you would like to tether you would need to subscribe to the tethering feature that VZW offers for your device. It is $30.00 and it does have a cap of 5gb. I currently subscribe to this feature and I have yet to hit the 5gb cap. Where I reside I have limited options for IS so this by far has been the best option. Very fast and reliable. Yes you may try a 3rd party app but I would only do so at your own risk. Others have talked about using 3rd party apps to tether your device but what is not mentioned is that some accounts I have read about have been sacked with surcharges when they get their VZW statement. Next thing you know the account is delinquent because the account holders are unable to pay such an exorbitant bill and the rest is history. Just saying read between the lines. Something's are not what they seem.
Good Luck...
Regards, Michael
