blacberry8530 frozen on welcome screen

bb 8530 is frozen on welcome screen.  i've removed battery several times and restarted but it's not working.  seems like the "ball" is frozen because i can't click on anything, but i'm able to move the cursor

I would recommend re installing the software on the device. Call verizon or take to store.

Hi,

You can reinstall the operating system software to your device with Blackberry Desktop Manager.  If you connect your device to your PC with BDM installed, it may not recognize the Blackberry right off the bat, but go through the update process, it will work.  Somehow, your OS became corrupted, usually from a recent application that was added.
