email filters

I have a blackberry touch and want to be able to filter out some of the emails from my home verizon email account to my blackerry, how do i do that?  Do I need to install a desktop version and do it there? Or are there settings in the blackberry that llet me do it on the device directly.

Also how do I setup rules for purging email off of the device after so much time? (i.e. anything older than 60,90 days).

To set up email filters, go to the Verizon BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) login page from  your computer:

 https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw

You may need to set up a new account there and if you have trouble you might need to contact support.

But once you are logged in there, find the email account you want to set up filters for and look on the right side of page where it says Filters.  There you can set up filters by subject, "from" email addresses, etc.  When you've created the filter, select Do not forward message to device and Add Filter.

I forgot to say... to set how long to keep emails, go to Messages, Options. General Options, scroll down to Actions, and there see Keep Messages and select what  you want.
