finding # key while on phone call with Storm

I was reviewing my voice mail and prompt said to push # if satisfied.  I couldn't figure out how to make the phone number screen come up while I was on a phone call.

while in a call you should have a bottom row of icons such as the home and a few other icons.  the icon on the bottom left that look like a bunch of squares will bring up your dial pad.
