how do I know if a blackberry has a data package when buying on ebay?

because i know verizon requires it, but I really dont know how to tell if it has one or not.

All Blackberry's on Verizon require the data plan. It's added at the time you activate the phone. So if you're looking at a Blackberry and it's a Verizon Wireless Blackberry then it will need a data plan.

i understand that. but i was told that i needed to make sure it had a data package when i purchase it from ebay so it's capabable to have a data plan.

I think you're confusing yourself. All Blackberry's are capable of the data plan, but you add the data plan when you activate the phone. Not when you buy from Ebay. So you can buy any Blackberry phone as long as it's VZW branded and have it activated.

see that's what i originally thought. but i went to the store and they had told me to make sure it had a data package. maybe he was just referring to other blackberry's that arent specifically verizon.
