new Blackberry Tour questions

Couple things...I upgraded to the Blackberry Tour a couple of days ago and tried to open a word doc this morning but couldn't. When I try to open Word 2 Go I get an error message. Also, I had a Blackberry Messenger conversation last night and wanted to review it this morning but it had completely disappeared. Hope someone can help.

Can you please be a little more specific about the error you are receiving??  What exactly does the phone tell you when you try to open the word doc?  Be as specific as possible please.

It says Error starting WordToGO: Class 'com.dataviz.dxtg.common.DocstogoApprefs$Prefsv1'multiply defined.

That is odd like something is not installed right with your OS. I would suggest either take it back and show them whats up or if you know how do a wipe and a reinstall of the software.

Ok, you need to reinstall word to go or take your phone back to VZW and have them do it.  You can pm me for a link on the how to as VZW doesn't allow us to post em here.  Let us know what you decide.  Cheers.

I guess if that is my only option, that is what I will have to do. I had to do that on the first one I had before they exchanged it for this one but I don't remember...does it automatically reinstall everything or do I have to do something after I select wipe handheld?

I was just told that doing a wipe handheld does not clear the operating system or the applications, just customer data. If that is the case, it would not solve the problem, right?

My apologies if I gave you the wrong info, I was under the impression that a "Wipe Handheld" wiped the phone and reinstalled everything.  After some research "wipe handheld" deletes all user data but leaves the OS and other apps alone. It removes the data from 3rd party apps but leaves the apps there.  It's worth a shot as doing so may clear out the issue causing the problem.  Be sure to back up your device with BB DM before doing so so you don't loose all your contacts.

No "wipe handheld" is only customer data. I meant to wipe your BB's OS with JL Cmdr and reinstall the whole OS. On second thought if you have never did this kind of stuff just take it back to the store and have them give you a new one.

This really seems excessive for an application that isn't working. Seems like you should just be able to uninstall the program and then reinstall it.

Plug your phone into the Desktop Manager and go to Apploader and uncheck Docs to go, then open it back up and recheck it. You can try it, but I think you have something else corrupted.
