if i lose reception and can't make a call, can i still send a text message?

Hello chamois,

 Since text messages travel over the voice network, if you are unable to make calls then your text will not go through as well. Are you having issues with your service? If so, please provide us with you location, city & state, and the specific blackberry you have so we can investigate, if need be.

I'm having dropped calls issues, something bad.  This is my second 9330 with this issue.  It can't be signal, because when I'm on the phone with Customer Care, I use my husband's phone??  Also, my signal strength shows that I have signal until I go to make a call, then the signal bars go to ZERO and then I hear the famous *beep beep beep Call LOST!!!! UGH

If you are experiencing dropped calls, update your PRL by dialing *228 and select option 2. It takes about 1 minute to perform the update. Let us know if that helps.
