More often than not, when I go to use vznavigator on my BB Tour the verbal commands come from the earpiece and not the speakerphone. I have tried suspending the device, turning it off, and looking for errant settings. The only thing that brings it back is when I remove and replace the battery. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to fix it ? Thank you
Keith

Based on the fact that a soft reset cures your problem but it always comes back possibly indicates an operating system issue at which point you may have to have VZW reload your OS. If you've already checked for errant settings in the device and all is as it should be then that is probably your issue. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's like making a phone call where it always starts off in your ear and you have to hit speaker phone in order to have it come out over the device speaker; though you said when you reset the device it comes outta the speaker initially which leads me to believe that my first suggestion is probably going to be your fix action. I don't use VZ Nav b/c the GPS is unlocked for use of other free directional apps in the Storm and Tour but you might also check the VZ Nav options and see if there's anything about the phone automatically using the speaker or the earpiece for giving directions. Hope this helps, please let us know.

Check the volume control. It seems that when it is set to "mute", the sound comes from the earpiece. When the volume is set to one of the "non-mute" settings, the sound comes from the speakerphone. If you have a "wired" headset plugged in, the sound comes from the headset. It seems that a "Bluetooth" headset is ignored.
