storm - different number of unopened email counter

on my new blackberry storm...i have a different number of unopened emails than the actual counter displays...example  i have received ten new emails but the storm shows eleven unopened. i checked on my computer and ten is the correct number. does anyone have any idea what happened and how to fix this?? thanks for the help!!

You may have a missed call or a SMS or MMS text message that may indicate a similar alert on your device.

Well, If all fails do the good ole battery pull. This is a known bug in the Official OS that VZW has on the Storm. I am currently on another build not supported by VZW. I though that maybe there was a missed call and this will generate an indicator on your device as well.
