So I get tour no trackpad no wi-fi and a month later vzw brings this Essex out, should I feel jipped? should I feel uncomfortable with my 11 year stint verizon? how about trackball free change to trackpad? don't need wi-fi?
What are you talking about? The Essex doesn't have a release date yet. The next upcoming BB with trackpad and wi-fi is the Curve 2 (8530). You made a decision when you bought your phone or you could've waited a little more and see what phones are out end of this year.
Verizon won't give you any upgrade priorities, now your only option is wait for your Annual Upgrade (if you qualify) or wait 20 months from the day you got your Tour.
I have not used the track pad personally but did read in the forums that it is not necessarily a wonderful thing. As I recall it was very finicky when it comes to any kind of moisture and they might have said something about the cold as well, but don't quote me on that part. The consensus was that the track ball was better and also it was replaceable should it become necessary.
