Add outgoing/incoming abd email address to current contact in BB

I have a BB 8830, want to add outgoing/incoming phone number or email to existing contact. When I try to add to contacts, it opens up a new contact with no option to add to existing. thanks

Go to Contacts, Hit the Berry Button and select EDIT

Thanks MacDaddy, maybe I did not specify what I am trying to do.

When a call or email comes in, wondering if I can high light that number and add to an existing contact.

Similar to a standard phone where if you pull up a called or incoming number there usually is an option where you can add to existing contact/.

I am familiar with opening contacts and adding this way, just trying to avoid added steps.Looking to maximize time management or maybe just lazy
