My girlfriend is currently in Japan for the next month. We both have the blackberry tour and she upgraded to the international plan to be able to use data while in Asia.
Question- Will she be charged extra for using black berry messanger??
She was told by a verizon rep that if she text messaged she would get charged an extra fee. Is this true for BBM as well?
Thanks!

Messages sent using BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry PIN to PIN Messaging are covered under your data plan. Since you both have Unlimited data access, neither of you will be billed any additional usage for using BlackBerry Messenger and PIN to PIN Messaging, even while your girlfriend is in Japan.

PIN to PIN messaging is covered under the domestic data plan; however without a global data plan the user in Japan would be charged for data use (which includes BBM, Internet Browsing, and Email). The user in the United States would not incur a charge, as it is being sent from the United States and under the domestic data plan.
- Unlimited global packages for data (which would replace your existing domestic package of $29.99/$44.99) are available and can be found HERE.

Hope this helps!
