HI GUYS!

I BADLY NEED HELP FOR THE ACTIVATION OF MY BLACKBERRY 9630 TOUR TO THE BLACKBERRY INTERNET SERVICE.

I JUST BOUGHT A SECOND HAND ORIGINAL BLACKBERRY 9630 TOUR FROM A PHONE STALLS IN THE PHILIPPINES. THE STALL OWNER SAID THAT THE PHONE CAME FROM OTHER COUNTRY. THE PHONE IS ALREADY UNLOCKED, I GUESS, BECAUSE IT ACCEPTS SIM CARDS FROM SMART TELECOMMUNICATIONS INC. THE PHILIPPINES NUMBER 1 NETWORK PROVIDER FOR CELL PHONES. NOW, THE FIRST TIME I TURNED ON THE PHONE, THE CARRIER - SPECIFIC STARTUP SCREEN APPEARED. GUESS WHAT? VERIZON WIRELESS.

TO GO FURTHER, I HAVE CALLED SMART TELECOMMUNICATIONS INC CUSTOMER CARE HOTLINE WHETHER THEY CAN SUPPORT OR HELP ME IN CREATING OR ACTIVATING MY PHONE, THIS BLACKBERRY 9630 TOUR IM HOLDING RIGHT NOW, TO THE BLACKBERRY INTERNET SERVICE. THEY TOLD ME TO FOLLOW SOME STEPS LIKE I HAVE TO GO TO WWW.SMART.BLACKBERRY.COM. AND SO I DID BECAUSE THIS IS THE SITE WHERE I CAN ACTIVATE MY BLACKBERRY PHONE TO BIS. THEN I STARTED TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT. I AGREED TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. BUT MY BIG PROBLEM IS, WHEN I INPUT MY DEVICE PIN AND IMEI, IT ALWAYS SAY: " Invalid PIN or IMEI format: Please retype your PIN and IMEI. The information you provided is incorrect. " I AM INPUTTING EXACTLY THE PIN AND IMEI OF MY PHONE. I TRIED IT A COUPLES OF TIMES ALLREADY BUT STILL THE SAME RESULT. GUYS, PLS HELP ME!!!! THANKS!!!

I had that happen with Verizon's blackberry site.  Turns out, the problem (for me) was that I was already registered (via my accounts set up already on my phone).

Sooo..If I remember right, I had to use my login from my vzw.blackberry.com address, then tell it that I forgot my password, have it sent to the phone, then I did it from the website.

But...I may be mis-remembering...I may have just used email setup from the blackberry, got logged in from there, and one of the options may have let me do it from the phone (allowed me to setup a username and password for the account).  I didn't document it, and I was going back and forth between the computer and the phone, but I finally got it.

I MANAGED TO FOLLOW A BIT OF YOUR REPLY TO MY POST. I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT. WELL THEN. I VISITED VERIZON BLACKBERRY INTERNET SERVICE. FIRST THING I DID WAS TO LOGIN BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO INPUT ON THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD FIELDS, SO, I CLICKED ON "FORGOT PASSWORD". IT SAYS THAT I HAVE TO INPUT EITHER THE USERNAME ( WHICH IS I DO NOT KNOW!) OR THE PIN. SO I CHOSED INPUTTING THE PIN. IT ACCEPT IT, I GUESS, BECAUSE IT PROMPTED ME THAT THE PASSWORD HAS BEEN SENT TO THE DEVICE.... BUT MY PROBLEM NOW IS, UNTIL NOW, WAITED COUPLE OF HOURS ALREADY, MY BLACKBERRY DEVICE DIDNT RECEIVE A THING YET!!

Ok, first off, please...turn off your caps lock.  It's considered shouting (rude), and it's very hard to read.  Thanks!

Second...as I said before, I can't remember exactly how I got it.  I had done the same thing, and never recieved the password sent to my pin either, so don't sweat that part.

Um....I'm leaning towards somehow, I went to email options on my phone.  And from there, there was some way that I had it set up a username and password for the account.  It might have been buried in the list of options somewhere...but somehow I stumbled across it.
