Blacbery getting ready to hit the wall

My blackberry pearl will not let me do anything. The hourglass will not dissappear. I have closed everything that is open and it still will not let me make a call and when I can it takes ten minutes to get the hourglass to go away. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try pulling the battery out with your phone on, and if Pearl has a SIM (R-UIM) card, remove it. Verizon phones don't need it because of different technology. My phone used to "reboot," once a week or so, but when I removed R-UIM card, (similar to SIM card at&t) the problem solved, no random reboots. Good luck.
