BlackBerry 9530 - No Internet connection

I have a BlackBerry 9530 cellphone that I purchased in Dubai. I’ve been using it in South Africa on the Vodacom network and I have had no problems as such except the battery which I charge 3 times a day.

The main issue I’m having is that I no longer receive any emails or internet connection at all.

I took it to a BlackBerry store and they said that, it’s defiantly the ‘handset’ that has a problem.

The lower case ‘edge’ only displays and not the upper case ‘EDGE’ and that’s how i picked up that there defiantly an issue with the handset.

Vodacom SA said that because it’s a handset made by Verizon they cannot repair it and that I should contact the manufacturer to fix the phone.

I really don’t know what to do as there is no Verizon in South Africa.

Can anyone advise me on how to fix this problem or how I can get my BlackBerry fixed?

Hi,

That is a good question.  You should call customer service at (800) 922-0204
Monday-Sunday 6am-11pm and ask what to do about your handset.  Go throught the recordings until you get to speak to a technical person.

I would click on the Manage Connections Icon and be sure you have it tiked in the right box. It will say Turn All Connections Off or On as maybe the case as the heading, make sure Mobile Network (Verizon) or (Vodaphone) is set there. If you are using WiFi be sure it is on? Also try tiking it off and then on sometimes that will send a signal and re activate it.
