I have a Motorola Droid, just got it and am not happy. I'm thinking about getting the BB Storm 2, but reading the reviews, 50% love it and 50% hate it. I like the touch screen and the ability to enlarge the fonts. I'm losing my sight and can't read the regular screens. There is nothing wrong with the Droid except the print is still as small as my BB 8900. Bigger screen, same size print. Can I get some in-put from Storm 2 owners? jfa-sag
You are right...some people love theirs and some people don't like it. I have had mine since October of last year and have had no problems with it what so ever. You can enlarge the screen to see the smaller fonts which is nice. I find browsing the internet is harder without a touchpad or track ball. I usually click on something and end up hitting something I didn't want. You do have the option of chaning to a mouse cursor which can be easier. I don't think you will know until you try it.
Just got a Storm 2 last week and really like it. I was using a Storm 1 for the past year so the change was not that much for me. If you are upgrading you have a thirty day period to return it if you don't like it.
I have had my Storm 2 since March (replaced a 8830) and so far have not had any issues and love the device. Have read many users having issues with freezing, reboots and such, but have experienced none of those. I do not use my device for internet browsing so can not really address those complaints. Overall I like the touchscreen, increased memory, speed and availability of Apps on the Storm 2.
As was indicated above, the 30 day trial may be the best test, especially since you have had a Driod and can do a real comparison for your needs / tastes.

I would add that if you are not able to click on something because it is too small there is a way to make the objects larger so you can click on them. one way is to hit the BB Menu button and then click on zoom in. The other way is too pick a spot on the screen that doesn't have any writing or will not activate and push the screen. Every time you push the screen the line you want to click on will get larger until you get it alone where you can click it.
Also there is a way to see what button you are over on the keyboard by pushing options, then push Screen/keyboard then scroll down to Portrait View Keyboard push "Full Keyboard" and then right under it is Show Key Indicator make sure it reads "ALWAYS" . This made all the difference in the world to me when typing.
I agree with most of the above. I've had my Storm 2 since Monday. I upgraded from a LG Voyager which is also touch screen. This Suretouch is much better. I'm really enjoying it. This is a great phone. I've heard about the freezing up but it hasn't happened to me. If one remembers to close apps after use, it should prevent the freezing problems. Too many open apps could be the freezer.
Changed over from tmobile, purchesed the storm 2. Won't be here until thru or fri, can't wait. I investigated the storm 2 for about 2weeks and feel good about my choice. I have also had a iphone is the past. Used it for about 1 year and found that I wasn't really impressed. Will get back to you when I get my storm.
I don't think you will be disappointed.
Maybe you can help me...I upgraded to a Stom 2 too from Storm 1 a week ago too. I can't seem to find how to be able to lock my phone (top key) and see my entire wallpaper. Right now, if I lock my phone the two rows of application still display. My old Storm used to display the entire wallpaper, Do you have any idea where i can go to set this same option in the Storm 2?
Thanks!
Gio
DO NOT GET THE STORM 2. I have had nothing but problems with it. I am on my 3rd storm 2 within 3 months. They freeze constantly they turn off by themselves a lot. I am so frustrated with mine.
