The questions are 1) whether Verizon will carry that phone?  2) If so, will it sell?

I think people that want a BBerry want it for the operating system and security.  If I wanted and android, I would already own one.  But that is my opinion.  I guess if I had to chose between a BBerry android and another android, I would choose the BBerry.  I guess that is their hope as well.

I believe people might want a mix of BB security, Android flexibility and BB hardware.

Turns out it's the Priv, and at $700 seems high, plus it isn't for CDMA networks.

First the $700.00 price tag, is full price. Some carriers will likely still offer subsidies. Cheaper then.

Second, check thread number 12 here, CDMA has been approved.

Verizon isn't going to support the Priv??? Why should any of us stay with Verizon?

Subsidies have higher monthly access charges, so you still pay full price plus tax plus $40 upgrade fee.

I've seen discounts at various carriers for Bring Your Own Device.

Never have I seen a special price for BYOD on Verizon. $$$$ a month, whether on a subsidized upgrade or buying at full price. I pay the same a month no matter how I get my BlackBerry, which the last 4 have not come from Verizon, and I have not gotten any discount by not upgrading. But the $40.00 upgrade fee does eat rocks.

Hmmm.....Out of contract service access fee is $15 or $25 depending on level of data from More Everything.  Changing to a new plan out of contract is $20.  BYOD is the same cost as a paid off phone or out of contract line.  Take a look, you could have been saving $20-25 a month for a long long time.

Checked, don't see More Everything Plan anywhere, looks like it's called Verizon Plan now.

Also more expensive than I pay now, I have my BlackBerry Classic on data, but other 4 phones on my account are all basic flip phones. No data, no text. Old Nationwide 700 Plan now. Big reason I haven't changed anything.

All five phones have long been off contract.

I see More Everything is called Verizon Plan. For the same amount of difference in monthly cost, I am now on the Verizon Plan.  When I checked a few months back, price may have seemed high because some phones were still on contract.  Appreciate the heads up.
