Blackberry 8703E Problem

A friend of mine went into a Verizon store and said that they told him that they no longer supported the blackberry 8703e.  I know for a fact though it was able to be activate thorught myverzion.  The point is that email will not work as described on the phone and thats the only reason i needed it!  So my question is this...Is this true?  Does Verizon not support the Blackberry 8703e with Email anymore?
