Verizon is not releasing a 9700 series Bold, as those are not CDMA phones.  The Bold 9650 is what VzW has released.

The Blackberry 9700 is currently a T-mobile and AT&T phone. It strictly runs on GSM network. It would never be compatible for CDMA network (as Doc said).
