So, I got a replacement Blackberry Bold and this one is doing the same thing as the other one. It keeps losing service and saying "SOS" where the service is suppose to be. Then when it gets service back I get an e-mail from Blackberry that says your handheld has been registered with the network and then when I try and do something it freezes. This happens everyday about 6 times a day. Does this happen to any of you?
Thank you!

What is happening (I think) is that your phone is set to Global and is searching for other networks. After all it is a Global phone.
I recommend that you change your Network technology setting to 1XEV. Go to Options/Networks and Connections/Mobile Network and if your Network Technology setting indicates 'Global', change that to 1XEV. This is the most appropriate setting for use on the Verizon network while in the USA.
Another suggestion is to 'flip' your SIM card (the card below your battery on the left side) so the gold contacts are facing out. Again this assumes you are using your phone in the good old USA.
Good luck.

Thanks Spiral! Phonefan23, if you're still having these issues after confirming this setting is correct on your phone, please PM me with your wireless number, a separate contact number, and a good time to reach you, and we will be happy to troubleshoot this further for you.
Thanks,
