***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. On the afternoon of Monday 12/5, all users will be able to log into the new Verizon Community. We expect the new Community to be fully functional the morning of Friday 12/9. Blackberry Chat

I live in the us, but want to us my blackberry chat to talk to friends who live in other countries. Is this free or is there a charge? Thanks

If you're referring to BlackBerry Messenger, that is considered data and should be covered by your unlimited BB data plan. You could call customer service though and make sure your plan is set up as such.


BBM is one of the advantages that makes BB special. Enjoy!

Messages sent using BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry PIN to PIN Messaging are covered under customer’s data plan or feature:

  • Customers with Unlimited data access plans or features:  not billed any additional usage for using BlackBerry Messenger and PIN to PIN Messaging. 
  • Customers with Grandfathered Megabyte plans or features: messages sent using BlackBerry Messenger or PIN to PIN Messaging decrements from their data allowance
