If I upgrade to the BlackBerry Pearl, do I have to pay for the data package? and if so how much will it cost?

Hi,

Welcome to the Verizon community forums.  All Blackberry devices and other 3G Smartphones require a data plan of at least 15 dollars/month for 150mb or 30 dollars for unlimited data.  You can go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/splash/plansingleline.jsp for more information about plans.  You might want to consider getting a Blackberry with WiFi, as it will help you control how much data you use.  With WiFi on a Blackberry, you can surf the web, send and receive email, and send/receive instant messages.  With the WiFi, you could get away with the lower priced data plan.  I hope this helps...
