Blackberry Storm 1

Please tell me if everyone hates the storm as much as I do? This phone is horrible it times out all the time, goes black, gets "snow" and the memory is a joke. I use facebook and email (Not by choice, but necessity!!!) and yet it asks me to delete apps all the time. That or I simply need to do my daily battery removals so I can access my browser . So in layman's terms I cannot use this phone to even 1/4 of its actual advertised capability. I have had the phone since October and have returned it more than a few times. I continue to get the next refurb only to find out that it is not the individual phone but the actual model. Even the CSR admitted she and many others are experiencing the same issues. I would like to add that I am not a casual phone user and I give Verizon over $2500 a year (more than my truck payment) and yet the service doesn't seem to match the cost. Of course wireless companies have us for life due to a "New every 2 policy" that locks us in even when we are truly unhappy. I have a crappy phone, and because of the contract I am supposed to just put up and shut up. Maybe Verizon should "New every 1" for those customers that spend a fortune on their service. The cost of the phone is not a very large issue considering they can offer them so cheap with a 2 year commitment. Come on Verizon maybe its time to recognize your most loyal customers, and make sure at the end of each day we can say boy I love this company and all it does to deserve so much of our hard earned money.

Do you know how to clear your memory other than pulling the bat.? Push Web / Globe Icon, then push BB menu then options. Then go to cache push it and starting at the bottom push each item until all are cleared. Then push the back key next to the red phone button and it will say clearing memory. Then you push the option icon scroll down to security options push that then Advanced then memory cleaning. If you want while you are there look for a home setting you can activate it is an Icon that goes on home screen so in the future all you have to do is push the memory Icon. What OS are you running. I am running 5.0.0.419 You can find it on crackberry. Be sure tp back up your phone and before install remove vendor file on new OS.

Also please list the Apps you have installed. There are some known problems with some.

Thank you very much for your response, but is it just me or is that a long list of steps just to use my phone? I have a job and a family and my cell phone used to be the one thing I could count on to work when I needed it, without removing a battery or a 12 step program!

My apps??? Yeah right.... I have facebook and yahoo email, if I use facebook I get a prompted to delete for space at least once a week, I would love to have more apps and take advantage of all the items I was told this phone was capable of, but why continue to irritate myself even more???? So why do I have to pay for internet services and get timed out or have  to delete when using only 2 apps???

The only pleasure I feel I will ever get from this phone is running it over with my car!!! Don't I send a payment every month for good service? I think its high time Verizon commits to service like they did in the past! I used to proudly say I was a Verizon customer, Now... NOT SO MUCH!

Do you know that this is a complaint among many Storm users? Yes I was told that by a Verizon rep. If you sell it, stand proudly behind it!!! Dont ignore the issues and expect your customers to continue past their contract dates!

I feel your pain!  I am on my third Storm since August and so is my husband.  In my opinion these devices are mediocre and they crap out quickly.  The replacements are refurbished and almost always wind up having the same issues over again in someone else's hands.  I have spoken to so many different Verizon Wireless reps and they all seem to have contradictory answers for me.  I feel very stuck and miserable with yet another faulty device and poor customer service.

I feel just the opposite as you both do. I have had one replacement because of a faulty Mic. Would I like not to have to clear memory so much, yes, but it is what it takes to keep the Storm humming along. So maybe you both should get a different phone next time.

I absolutely hate my Storm too! I have had 3 in less than a year and the reps in customer service and the tech department keep giving me the run around and asking me to do things I have already done to fix the problems.  I am about to the point that I am going to demand a different phone or switch providers.  I thought AT&T's customer service was horrible when I was with them and sadly Verizon's is not much better.  What do hard working people have to do to get a break and get what they are paying for???

Why do you and others on this forum take it so personally? I'm on my 9th storm in 13 months. This one is a piece of junk too. All I get from Verizon is "You can buy a different phone" or "Here's a refurb" I would think that Verizon would be interested in keeping customers satisfied with their service.

BTW, LCromwell, congradulations on having good results with your storm. I'm genuinely happy for you, I wish I had the same results as you. It is very frustrating though when you spend more time on the phone with Verizon cust svc than almost anyone else.
