I bought this phone from a friend before christmas break thinking I could unlock it but I ended up finding out that the network had been blocked and that the sim I placed in the phone was disabled. Help anybody?

The Sim in Verizon phones are not used for activating phones. In fact, you don't even need a Sim card in a Verizon phone, unless you are using it overseas. To activate your Storm, you will need to call Verizon Wireless from another phone or go by one of there stores. Any of the customer service reps will be happy to open a wireless account for you, if you do not have one. The phone can not be used on another network such as ATT or T-Mobile unless the PIN number associated with the device is released by Verizon. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
