My Blackberry got wet and is dead. No info can be retrieved off of it, however I have it backed up with Desktop Manager. How do I get my contacts from the old BB (via the backup) onto my new iPhone?

I believe you will have to use Backup Assistant at My Verizon. Did you ever do a back up that way?

Hi,
If you backed up your Blackberry device's data with Blackberry Desktop Software, you can only restore that data onto another Blackberry. The other person who posted is correct, Backup Assistant would be one of the ways you could get your contacts, provided you ever used BA with your Blackberry. Sorry.

Ralph,
I think you misread the OPs original predicament. The solutions you provided do not help him get contacts from a BB backup to an iPhone. Your solution only provides for Google, Windows and Yahoo. Any other ideas?

SoccerRef, I apologize for the miscommunication regarding the answer to your post. I have listed below the steps to backup and restore data on your Blackberry using the DeskTop Manager.
- Ensure the device is connected to the computer via the supplied USB cable.
- Launch BlackBerry Desktop Software.
From the Windows desktop, navigate Start > Programs (All Programs) > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager. - Click Backup and Restore.
- Click Back up.
- Click Save.
The Backup file will be named with the current date and saved in My Documents.
Backup is complete when the Transfer in progress window closes.
Backup Data (Advanced)
- Ensure the device is connected to the computer via the supplied USB cable.
- Launch BlackBerry Desktop Software.
From the Windows desktop, navigate Start > Programs (All Programs) > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager. - Click Backup and Restore.

To select multiple databases, press and hold down the CTRL key then click the appropriate databases.
To select a range of databases, press and hold the Shift key then click the appropriate databases. - Click File > Save As (located in the upper-left).

Sigh,
These VZW reps just don't get it. First they describe how to back & restore an iPad. Then they describe how to back and restore a BlackBerry. The OP wants to know how to get the contact info from a BB backup file (.ipd) to an iPhone. Be advised that the BB is dead, so using Back Up Assistant is not an option.
The question is:
What are the steps to get contact info from a BB backup file to an iPhone.

This may be a 3 step process. There are a few free/trial programs that will convert your .ipd file to a .csv file (ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter looks like it might be a good one). Then you need to figure out how to convert the .csv file into some thing that will load into you iPhone contacts. This may be your only recourse as there doesn't seem to be a easy solution. Good luck!
