I am trying to activate my blackberry, which I have previously used for a long amount of time, but I keep getting a message that says there is an error and I need to call customer service, but I do not have a separate phone to call with. I also try to dial the *228 from the blackberry to activate it, and it does the same thing? Has my ESN suddenly gone bad or is there something I need to do? Can I do something through the internet to fix it so I don't have to hunt down someone with a land line? (I live on a college campus).
Try to re-register your device with the network. On your device, go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table. Now press the Menu key (to the left of the trackpad) and select Register Now. After it completes that proceedure, pull the battery out for a minute and allow your device to reboot. You should be up and running.
