Bold 9650 Browser Response Time

I went to the local Verizon Wireless store today and tried out the new Bold 9650. I tried to bring up http://www.yahoo.com in the browser. I seriously waited about 3 or 4 minutes and it still hadn't loaded yet. I thought this thing had more RAM! For those of you who have purchased this BB or tried it out, what is your browser response time like? It seems to me that even the Tour didn't have blinding speed, but it came back in say ... 15-20 secs, no?

Thanks for any replies in advance.

As far as I know most, if not all VZW stores, are steel frame. This could cause slow response time. Maybe a rep could unhook and go with you outside and try again.

I have the 9650 and it just took me 20 seconds to load www.yahoo.com.  10 seconds for initial page load, and another 10 seconds to load all the images.

Amount of RAM should have no impact on load speed. Data network congestion is the biggest factor.  Also, browsing on a Blackberry is typically not direct to a website.  A Blackberry server sits in the middle, gets the data for the desired web page, and then reformats and compresses the data to then send to your device.

Hi,

I wonder how the Bold 9650 works with Opera's Mini browser?  Just curious if anyone's tried it.
