Bold 9930 Email Setup Confusion

Just got a Bold 9930 and want to set up my work email.  One VZW store employee told me I would need a different data pack.  Another said I'd be fine with the basic data pack, which is what I'm still set up with.  I tried to follow email setup directions, but never got prompted to choose between internet and enterprise email like the step-by-step guides said I would.  Instead, the on-screen directions told me to enter my email address, which I did...  I don't get how, but I'm now able to send emails from my BB using my company email address. 

 

To clarify, we do not have a Blackberry Exchange Server.  It's a small company (18 employees) with no IT personnel.  I'd know, I'm one of the technically-UNsavy owners. We use Microsoft Outlook. I did not upgrade to the $45 data pack.

 

While I can send emails from my BB, I'm not receiving them on the device. If someone replies to my email, I receive it only on my desktop computer. I'm traveling the next few days and would REALLY like to be able to access my inbox from the road.

 

Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong, or more important, what I should be doing differently?  I would be forever grateful.
