Can I use my storm as a tether for my laptop?

Just want to know if anyone has used the Storm model 9530 as a modem for a laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

According to the list found at http://support.vzw.com/capability/mobile_broadband_connect_devices.html you can use it to tether.  For more information go to Verizon's web site for Mobile Broadband at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/mobilebroadband/?page=products_connect

i was using my 9530 as a tethered device with a cable to a laptop running Windows XP up until about 2 weeks ago.  Apparently, you need to be very careful with the BB OS version and the version of access manager from Verizon.  I updated both and it stopped working.  I have to go to a Verizon store later today to see if their techs can get it working.  Not saying NOT to do this, but you need to be very careful and read first.
