Cancel Blackberry while still in contract?

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can cancel my Blackberry and its data plan and downgrade the phone to my old Chocolate without a data plan? I'm in a two year contract still but I'm not sure if that's just a contract to remain with Verizon, or if it's a contract to pay for the data plan, too. My goal is just to have a phone that can call/text and not have to have a fancy Blackberry with an expensive data plan. Thanks for any responses!

The contract is for the line of service - regardless what phone or add on data and texting you have. You can have a basic voice plan and no extras, with a basic flip phone if you are trying to cut costs.

So, yes, you can activate your old phone, and remove the data plan, and still be within the terms of your contract.
