Hi im looking at giving my daughter my old blackberry storm first edition cause she loves the touchscreen and im getting a new phone. I was just wondering if you have to have internet on it or if you can block that feature from the device or at least have the 10 dollar data package instead.
Hi,
First, welcome to the forums. As of this time, all 3G Smartphones, including all BlackBerry devices, require a separate data plan, which at this time is $29.99. You can block the data from the phone, but you will still be required to pay for it. My suggestion would be to go into the settings and disable the internet. On your device, go to Options>Security Options>Firewall. Change Status to Enabled and fill in the check box next to Blackberry Internet Service. Be sure to press the menu key and save. That should do it. I hope this helps.
