Deleting Email on Blackberry Bold

Hi.

When I get an email from yahoo on my phone I always check to delete it on handheld and online inbox (however it says that on my phone.) However, when I go online my inbox has all of those emails in it that I tried to delete.

What is the problem?

I have gmail.  I have it set up in my windows mail  So when I select to delete from handheld and mailbox it will delete it from my windows mail but not on the internet side of the gmail account.  If you have your yahoo set up in your windows email it will remove it from that since you have POP it to it but on the internet side it will not delete it.  Outlook express is on XP  windows email is on Vista

I'm sorry. I am totally new to Blackberry. What is it that I need to do? Does all of this have anything to do with syncing the phone to my computer? I never did that?
