Dialpad not working- all other functions normal

I have the original Blackberry Storm, and after some initial glitchy  screen  problems, I downloaded the update and all was well. That is until yesterday, after I pulled the battery (which I have done in the past to reset it when the screen started acting up) when I discovered that the dialpad will not dial numbers directly. I can voice dial, and dial from the directory, but although the numbers are highlighted when I touch them on the number pad, the numbers do not register when I click the screen. Any  help would be appreciated, as I am tired of voice dialing new numbers.

Have you tried doing a re-install for your software? I did some research and it seems that a re-install will resolve your issue. If this solution resolves your issue with your dialpad, please mark as solved.

Another way to get around the issue is while you're on the dialpad screen, open up the blackberry shortcut menu and choose the phone icon. Your dial pad should work after that.
