I have a BlackBerry World Edition and for the last two or three days (since sometime on Sunday, May 2), my e-mails (from Gmail) are not received by the phone as they come, but rather seem to be sent to the phone in batches every three or four hours--so I am no longer receiving e-mail as it is sent, even though when I go to the Gmail site using a computer, new e-mails are sending and arriving normally. Starting today, my phone appears unable to send e-mails either, and I have not yet received a "batch" of e-mails (or any single e-mails) today. How can I fix this?

You can try a few things:
1.) Try and hard restart of your phone but pulling out the battery for a few seconds and putting it back in.
2.) Resending the service books to your phone. You can do this from the Verizon BIS site (https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw) or under the email settings on your phone. You can also give Verizon a call, they can probably have the service books resent to you.
3.) Remove the Gmail account from your blackberry, reboot your blackberry, and then added the Gmail account again. I have seen that fix the same issues you are having.
