First, I have a Z30, yes that's right, a Z30 not a Z10.  I am attempting to set my voicemail up so that i do not have to manually dial my password.  Yes i am lazy that way.  I have attempted to modify the voicemail number with a "pause", with a "wait", with a "p", with 2 "p", with a "n", I've even created a totally new contact with all the previously stated variables.  I have recently resorted to shouting at the paperweight(Z30) to see if i could intimidate it functioning.  I absolutely hate to have to enter yet more keystrokes to accomplish a simple task.  No i do not have visual voicemail.  Any suggestions?

He's not asking to turn OFF the password, but make it automatically enter when dialing VM.

To Biggerthanyou2- are you entering the # sign after your 4 digit password?  In other words, your VM shortcut should dial *86 (or your own 10-digit phone number), then ,, or pp, then 1234#

A comma will sometimes mean a pause as well as the P character.

Being able to turn off the vm password is generally only possible with visual voicemail apps. The standard Verizon voicemail requires a password and the user cannot disable that feature.
