Getting Clock Sign and Texts Won"t Go Thru

This started late last week...when I try to send a text I get a little red clock next to the text and the message never gets sent.  I have full bar service so I don't understand what is happening.  While I am not a "text head" I do want to be able to communicate that way when I want to.  Somebody please tell me how to fix it.

Try a battery pull and restart your device. See if that helps.

It worked!  I had turned it off and on, but hadn't pulled the battery. Thanks for the help!
