I Have a question or basically need help on what to do..I have the storm and I love the phone WHEN IT WANTS TO WORK!! LOL..Anyways I have changed my phone 4 times already at my local VZ store..I'm torn with what to do.I was told I can change my phone in for the Tour. But then I heard the Storm2 is coming out (can anyone tell me when it will) so I'm not sure do I just get the tour or hold off and maybe the storm 2 will be here by oct. and I can get that!!! Any help would be great
I can understand how you can be unsure of what to do. If you want my opinion, I would go with the Tour. If it were me and I had so many problems with the Storm, I don't know if the Storm 2 is going to be the "Second Coming" for Blackberry Storm 1 owners. I would go ahead and get the Tour while you can. Good luck on your decision.

Somewhere on My Verizon board, where Verizon has a list of coming phones, the Storm 2 is suppose to be released today, but I doubt it? I have the Storm and have had no problems except the Mic wouldn't pick my voice up well enough to make phone calls. I got another one Sat. and so far no problems. However I must say I know so much more now about fine tuning it and cleaning the memory and having the media card set to being always open for storage and so on. Thanks to all on this board that have helped me. Did you look thru the tips I posted on here for the Storm TIA?
I have the Storm and love it. Of course it isn't perfect, but if you take care of it and do maintenance (quickpull) then it will perform well. The Storm 2 is supposed to be released somewhere between October and December and is supposed to have WIFI which will be cool. I work with several people that have company phones that are the Tour and seem very happy with them. Believe me if they were unhappy then everybody would know about it. They are very spoiled by the company and always get what they want. The Tour is just like the Storm except it has a real keypad.
Good luck, I hope this helps you make a decision.
Might I ask what problem(s) you were having?...I'm about fed up with my Storm to be honest! I miss soooo many calls and emails because my phone will freeze for **bleep** near 45 mins at a time, and I won't even know. I have to seriously pull the battery about 30-40 times a day, just to use it.
The problems i'm having is with the freezing it doesn't stop!!! When people call me it freezes were I can not answer it and all you see is that clock ticking for like 5-10 mins really annoying!!! I do have the quick pull set up on my phone to do it at 530 am every morning still doesn't help!! Then when i'm going to make a call and am on the home screen it will freeze were i can't open any appt on the phone..Now for the last couple days people that call me tell me that the phone rings on there end for like 5 times but on my end it only rings once and then hangs up i'm not sure if thats the phone itself or just the verizon service. I don't know I love the storm when it works and i don't want to get rid of it but i really can't take it anymore lol....Hoping storm 2 comes out real soon!!!!
Have you read anything on here about what I and maybe others have posted about clearing log file, clearing memory in addition to the bat. pull? You need to 1 be sure when you finish with any app you have opened, to close it. You do that by pushing BB Menu button and scroll to the bottom where it says "switch apps". That will open a bar across your screen and show everything that is open and running. There are some you will never close like phone,Internet, BB Messenger,,and email. Anything else should be closed. If not, click on it and then the BB button and scroll down to close.
Now for memory cleaning, click on Internet (world globe) open it and then BB But., then scroll down to options, push that, there should be three items in there, skip to the last one Cache, click on it, then 3 more will show, click on each one where it says clear and so on until it is all cleared out, then back your way back out and then either do a bat. pull manually or using the bat pull app. Then when it is up and running again push options icon, scroll to memory, and then scroll thru memory and see how much is reported, should be over 30MB. Oh you can also on the home screen, switch apps., push green home screen but., then keyboard, then go to numbers on keyboard and type "/"/"/" you may not need the 3rd set if it opens, when that opens the log, push BB but. and the second item is clear log, push it. Are you deleting emails as soon as you have read them? Are you deleting phone log? Open phone dialer and go to the center top middle phone icon with arrows push it and a log will open of every call you made or received then push BB But and scroll down to delete. If you have never done this there is no faster way I am told, than one at a time, so once it is done, it is best to empty it at least once a day. Yeah there is a lot of work with this phone!
