I just bought a Blackberry Bold for my wife for Christmas. She currently has an LG enV Touch.
When I try to activate it online, it says "We cannot activate the phone associated with the device ID you entered." I tried to activate it via *228 and got basically the same message. And, since it's Christmas, customer service is closed.
I'd really like to activate this for the wife today. Can someone help? I tried re-registering the device through the options menu, but it had no effect.

It seems activation has been down for a couple weeks from whats posted on here. You'd think with Christmas they would MAYBE fix it along with Backup Assistant. That has been down for 4 months now.
Yea, I was really shocked that customer service was closed today, too. I believe in Christmas and that the Verizon employees need to be with family too, but I'm betting there are many phones being opened by the tree for which customer service will be needed.
Did you get your Bold activated? I know how disappointing it is when you can't use it the same day, but I hope it's all straightened out now. The reason you may not have been able to do it online or over the air is because the BlackBerry Internet Service plan has to be added to the account. In my experience, when switching between BlackBerry and other phones, I always had to call customer service from another number to activate.
