The bottom line is I was told that Verizon will continue to handle Blackberry products, if the Passport is not carried I will drop my contract and move on.

Most likely you will have to move to another Carrier as I am going to have to also. Verizon hasn't completely finished their VoLTE (Which is Voice over LTE). So that's why they require all phones to be CDMA compatible. So that you can actually Make a call LOL!! I have heard its in, but i guess there is testing being done, and roll-out wont happen till something like 2016 LOL!! In the meantime I guess both of us will be switching.

Go ahead and move, it's not a big deal and doesn't affect anyone but you and Verizon.

Verizon WILL continue to support and carry BlackBerry products. But nobody ever told you Verizon would get EVERY model BlackBerry releases now, did they? Verizon still could get the Passport. If it happens like the Z30 happened, that would point to a late November launch.
Verizon didn't get the 98xx Torch. Maybe this is a case where AT&T gets the exclusive U.S. release of the Passport and Verizon gets the Classic.
A third scenario is that Verizon gets Passport six months after AT&T as six months is the typical length of a temporary exclusive deal.

Verizon doesn't need to carry every device anymore. All they need to do is what everyone else is doing. Allow calls on their LTE network. Currently (and most people don't know this) if your phone doesn't have CDMA that's why you won't get a phone on this network. Ever wonder why when your on a call you never get an imessage, or if your not on wireless you can't surf the net? Its cause when your on a call your on CDMA and LTE is disconnected (temp). Even though it still says LTE. Give it a try. Now if you have a phone that allows data on both networks then you get data. Iphone 5s doesn't allow this. So that's pretty much why not all models are supported on Verizon. Verizon had better upgrade their software systems soon or it won't be just passports people leaving. This is just the starting of what is to come.

Apple set that limit on the iPhone's themself. Every other 4G LTE phone does data and calls at the same time.....
