How do I remove the verizon cloud completely from my phone?

Since it is not possible to remove my contacts from the Verizon cloud, I want to remove the software entirely from my phone. Anytime I delete a contact it is restored to my phone at once. I now have thousands of unwanted contacts. I want to stop using the Verizon Cloud as it it is a faulty piece of software.

If it's a phone bought from verizon I doubt you can unless the phone can be rooted.
