Wifi usage does not count against your data plan - BB, Android, iPhone - wifi is not counted against any allowance you have.
You can see which network you are connected to at the top of the screen - I set my wifi at home to say HOME, so if it says Home I know it's not using Verizons data. If nothing is up there, then I'm on Verizon's network.
