 Is there any kind of message like Blackberry message that does not charge as a text message, besides email?

I have text blocked because as a rule I do not like not having any control over $$ being run up on my Verizon account? I was wondering if  Yahoo messenger, or BB messenger was considered a Text and will be charge if you use either of them?

You are not charged for any messages on your Storm for using BB messenger or Yahoo Messenger. They are included with you data plan. I reviewed all of my text usage for the last couple of months and neither of them show up as text usage.

So they do not go out as a traditional text type message. I assume you put the messenger address in the phone contact list?

No as long as you are sending them through the messenger applications themselves. Yahoo contacts will show up when you log on to Yahoo Messenger. You can save BB messenger contacts to the specific contact, I would just make sure you send through BB messenger.

I believe you can put the screen names / messenger address in the contacts list, but your built in Blackberry Messenger keeps its own contact list within the app itself. You have to enter the other person's specific PIN from their device to be able to message them using that application.
