Looking forward to the Storm 2

I am another one that hangs out on the Crackberry site.

After seeing all the video's and watching all the information coming out on this model, it looks like it will be a major improvement on the original Storm.

So it would be nice to have a firm date on the release. Some are currently saying that the middle of October will be it, and yet there is other info on the middle of November. It would be nice if the powers that be here could give us a little info on that.

I am holding out my NE2 for this phone as a replacement to my 8830 which I assume is on the end of life list along with the 8703e.

Good luck trying to get any info from anyone at VZW. They are very tight lipped around here. All we can rely on until VZW does come out with a press release is the good ol fashioned rumor mill..... IE BGR, Engadget, and so on. Your guess is probrably as good as everyone elses. And im sure that you most likely know more than any of the VZW reps. I can guarantee you that they have never heard of the storm 2 =)....

I know you're right and the chatter of it has been minimal on here. The info on Crackberry and other sites is much greater along with the info on even using or troubleshooting a blackberry.

I just figured it's time to put the feelers out and see if VZW is willing to put out anything.

If the October release is accurate then we should be seeing something very soon.

The technology that is going into the new screen along with OS5 should make this a very interesting phone.

Have you heard if the 2 will have a different OS number than 1?

Everything that is being tested right now is 5.0.0.190 or better. I have not seen what the latest is and there has been no word other than "that's not even the latest". The new screen tech looks awesome and the whole finish looks better and more streamlined.

You will have to look on another site to find out more, some like crackberry.
